Following my graduation, I taught 7th and 8th grade social studies for three years at Manor Hall International School in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. In August 2019, I returned to the University of Georgia to pursue my MA in History as well as my certification in Museum Studies, and I worked as a teaching assistant for the university's History Department. Research Research Areas: Early America Europe-Early Modern Research Interests: I study seventeenth- and eighteenth-century German-speaking settlements in the British Thirteen Colonies in North America. In particular, I am interested in the cultural changes and continuities within these communities concerning religious beliefs and practices, perceptions of war and military service, gender roles, and language. I seek to answer how these changes and continuities impacted and shaped German-Americans' integration into, and influence on, American culture.
