Thursday, September 25 2014, 5pm Edge Hall, Hugh Hodgson School of Music The Athens Music Project, a Willson Center Faculty Research Cluster, presents a talk by Grace Elizabeth Hale, Commonwealth Chair of American Studies (1997), professor of American Studies, and director of the American Studies Program at the University of Virginia. Dr. Hale received her B.A.('86) and M.A.('91) in History at UGA, and a Ph.D.('95) at Rutgers. Her fields and specialties include 20th century US cultural history, history of the US South, documentary studies, and sound studies. Her forthcoming book is Cool Town: Athens, Georgia and the Promise of Alternative Culture in Reagan’s America. Location: Edge Hall, Hugh Hodgson School of Music.
