Thursday, April 28 2016, 12:30pm 101 LeConte Hall Adam Rothman (Assoc. Prof., Georgetown U) will present a guest lecture, "Beyond Freedom's Reach: A Kidnapping in the Twilight of Slavery." Rothman is an Associate Professor of History in the History Department. He studies and teaches the history of the United States from the Revolution to the Civil War, and the history of slavery and abolition in the Atlantic world. He also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Atlantic history, 19th century U.S history, and the history of slavery. His most recent book is Beyond Freedom's Reach: A Kidnapping in the Twilight of Slavery (Harvard U Press, February 2015.)
