Guest speaker Sophie Jones, 2016 Franklin-Liverpool Graduate Research Fellow

Sophie Jones, a doctoral candidate from the University LIverpool, will  present a paper on "Negroes, Mollatoes, and other Improper Persons": The Motivations and Activities of Black Loyalists in the American War for Independence on Wednesday afternoon. Jones is a 2016 Franklin-Liverpool Graduate Research Fellow. Her week-long research stay at UGA is sponsoredd by the Franklin-Liverpool Graduate Research Fellowship program and Franklin College, and the History Department. The university community is invited to attend.
