History at Work: All About Internships!

101 LeConte Hall

Why are internships important and how do I find one?

"Internships are key to building experience as a student or recent graduate. Employers are much more likely to hire someone with internships and work experience rather than someone with a generic resume, lacking experience. ... It is important that you choose you internships based on your interests and career prospects."

Join us for a talk on the importance of internships and how to find one for the history or related major. Internships aren't just for public historians or art historians and can be a real benefit to your job search. At UGA you can also receive internship credit for appropriate internships while in school which gives you upper division history credit AND fulfills UGA's experiential learning requirement.

History at work is an ongoing series sponsored by the Department of History at UGA. Each episode a different speaker presents career options for history majors and those interested in the careers and work of historians.

We know you'll have finished off those turkey leftovers--don't worry-- we'll serve pizza for this session of History at Work! Come and relax for an informative lunch period and a great talk.
