Professor Soper teaches courses on the history of modern Europe, Italy, microhistory, and the second half of western civ. He is working on a new book about political prisoners in southern Italy on the eve of Italian unification. Professor Short also teaches courses on the history of modern Europe, with a focus on Germany, France, and intellectual history. His current book project explores the idea and limits of global consciousness. Free admission, free pizza.
