Thursday, March 29 2018, 5:30pm Georgia Museum of Art, lecture hall Art Historian Michele Bogart will examine recent controversies over public sculpture In New York City. Bogart's talk comes from research for a book-length study on public sculpture in New York City from the period spanning the Cold War and culture wars. The book titled, Sculpture in Gotham: Art and Urban Renewal in New York will be published in April 2018. A scholar with wide-ranging interests, Bogart is a specialist on topics ranging from public monuments to advertising. She has published on public art, memorials, animation, landscape and garden history, photography, and illustration. This is a free event. The public is invited.
