Dr. Tamara Walker will join us to discuss her most recent book, Exquisite Slaves: Race, Clothing, and Status in Colonial Lima (Cambridge, 2017). Walker's scholarship focuses on three interrelated thematic areas: the history of slavery and freedom in Latin America; the process of racial formation in the region; and the ways in which gender shaped the experience of enslavement and racialization.

This talk will be presented remotely via Zoom, space will be limited.
