Tamara Walker History University of Toronto U Toronto Mon, 10/05/2020 - 5:30pm Via Zoom Dr. Tamara Walker will join us to discuss her most recent book, Exquisite Slaves: Race, Clothing, and Status in Colonial Lima (Cambridge, 2017). Walker's scholarship focuses on three interrelated thematic areas: the history of slavery and freedom in Latin America; the process of racial formation in the region; and the ways in which gender shaped the experience of enslavement and racialization.
