History of Capitalism Reading Group Meeting

Laura Phillips Sawyer
School of Law
University of Georgia
Zoom Meeting, Email rsb87526@uga.edu for an Invitation Link.

The History of Capitalism Reading Group will be discussing Laura Phillips Sawyer’s American Fair Trade: Proprietary Capitalism, Corporatism, and the “New Competition,” 1890–1940. This will also be our second meeting with an author. While we encourage any attendees to read the book in its entirety, we also understand that there are time constraints, and for the purposes of discussion, we will be reading the Introduction (23), Chapter 2 (43), and Chapter 4 (47)—all told, about 113 pages of the text. Graduate students who are interested, but still in a class at the beginning of the meeting at 2:15, should consider joining our Zoom call when they finish.
