Dr. Jay Driskell is the author of Schooling Jim Crow: The Fight for Atlanta’s Booker T. Washington High School and the Roots of Black Protest Politics (University Press of Virginia, 2014).  A Yale PhD and former assistant professor of history at Hood College, Dr. Driskell has been working for the past five years as a researcher, consultant, and writer for a range of individual and institutional clients including the Smithsonian, the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and Dr. Cindy Hahamovitch, UGA.

Anyone interested in turning the craft of historical research into a well-paid career should attend.
