Our ever-popular Lunchtime Time Machine talk series presents Dr. Stephen Berry, Gregory Professor of the Civil War Era as he explores the question "How did we double human life expectancy?" Berry feels compelled to study "old, unhappy, far-off things." A historian of mortality, his research explores the intersections of race, class, gender, family, violence, and death in the nineteenth-century South.

All majors are welcome.
