Black Women’s Wellness in Practice: Talk and Tea with Dr. Stephanie Evans

flyer for informal chat and lunch with Dr. Stephanie Evans
Adinkra Hall, 4th Floor Memorial Hall

We invite you to join us between 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM on Monday, Feb. 19th in Adinkra Hall on the 4th floor of Memorial Hall.

This informal gathering offers space for conversation, refreshments, and wellness practices in fellowship with Dr. Stephanie Evans (Professor, Georgia State University), author of Black Women’s Yoga History: Memoirs of Inner Peace. In her book, Dr. Evans explains how memoirs offer lessons for those who are struggling today to heal from personal, cultural, and structural violence. Thanks to our supporters, we are excited to offer FREE books to the first 25 student or community member attendees! Questions? Contact Dr. Carolyn Medine | medine@uga.edu

(Refreshments catered by Rasche's Cuisine.)

Dr. Evans will also present a lecture later in the day at 5:30 pm. Check the calendar listing for the location and more details.

This event is supported by the Institute for African American Studies, Institute for Women's Studies, and the Department of History.
