This installment of the History Department’s undergraduate lecture series is presented by Dr. Reinaldo Román, who will delve into the question, Why did humanitarians worry about giving too much disaster aid to Puerto Rico?

Professor Román teaches courses about Cuba, the Caribbean, the Atlantic world, African-inspired religions in the Americas, and the history of disasters. His courses emphasize the development of writing and research skills with a collaborative and scaffolded approach.  Román's teaching has been recognized with several awards, including the Sandy Beaver Excellence in Teaching Award

Students of all majors are welcome.
