Graduate Student Teaching Assistant Coming from an extensive background in public history, Jamie's research interests lie in exploring the intricacies of U.S. foreign relations during the Early National period through the lens of its interactions with Imperial Russia. By juxtaposing the embryonic United States with the more established Russian Empire, she offers a unique vantage point to assess the U.S.'s emergence in global geopolitics, its early diplomatic strategies, and the formation of its national character. Jamie proudly served on the HGSA as First Year Experience Coordinator during the 2023-2024 academic year. In addition to teaching year-round, she has been honored to work closely with two faculty members as a student research assistant, contributing to their book projects.
