Do you want to travel to Rome and Florence with Dr. Raad next June and earn Museum Studies or History elective credits?"Museum Studies in Italy" is a brand-new study abroad program starting Summer 2027! It will be a 12-day intensive open to undergrads and grad students associated with a new 3-credit course called "Italy and the Modern Museum." Interested in learning more? Come to this information session! We'll have pizza for attendees. HIST4405/6405: Italy and the Modern Museum. This course traces the origins of the modern museum in Italy. Through guided tours and site visits to centuries-old institutions across Rome and Florence, students will learn about the history of public museums and analyze the collections, architecture, exhibition strategies, and interpretive frameworks of these early Italian museums.
