Emily Taylor Smith is a historian of women, gender, sexuality, and religion in twentieth-century America. Her research focuses on Catholic women and mid-century debates over contraception, abortion, and motherhood. Before joining UGA’s faculty, Dr. Smith taught at the University of Notre Dame, St. Mary’s College, Wabash College, and Albion College.
