Congratulations to Dr. Claudio Saunt! This year’s Robert F. Kennedy Book Award goes to Claudio Saunt for his book Unworthy Republic: The Dispossession of Native Americans and the Road to Indian Territory, a heart wrenching and powerful indictment of our country’s shameful history.

Cindy Hahamovitch, B. Phinizy Spalding Distinguished Professor of Southern History in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded a 2021 Fellowship by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

Please see our events listing for details and a link to Zoom reservations. Graduate students in history who attend will receive a copy of the book in advance. A short presentation about the book will be followed by a Q and A session and general conversation.
