Environment & Agriculture

Graduate students working at the intersection of environmental and agricultural history have been among our most successful alums in recent years. Multiple dissertation awards have been garnered from the American Society for Environmental History and the Agricultural History Society by our graduates. Our award-winning, nationally recognized faculty in the field actively participate in Dirty History, an interdisciplinary workshop in agriculture, environment, and capitalism. Undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental history, history of slavery, labor, and food history are regularly offered.
